How to prepare for a professional podcast recording
A professional podcast recording is easier when the conversation format is decided before the cameras and microphones are set. Preparation can stay simple while still making the session smoother.
Set the episode format
Know whether the session is a solo episode, interview, panel, or co-host conversation. Confirm participants, approximate duration, and the essential topics so seating and recording coverage can be planned.
Prepare guests and materials
Send guests the arrival details and a short description of the conversation. Bring any visual elements, approved logos, or opening and closing language that should be part of the recording.
Decide what happens after recording
Consider whether you need a full episode, short clips, captions, an introduction, or versions for specific platforms. Sharing the publishing plan early helps align the production and edit.
